Alabama Giving

MISSION

Alabama Giving is a statewide association of grantmakers dedicated to building and strengthening organized philanthropy in Alabama.

Alabama Giving provides members with educational resources to better their effectiveness as grantmakers, offers a regular venue for networking and collaborative funding opportunities, and leverages collective influence to help shape policy and to offer programs promoting philanthropy.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Board of Directors

An eleven-member Board of Directors governs Alabama Giving. This Board is comprised of directors,officers and a chairman elected by the members every three-years. The Forum holds an annual meeting each September. The Board adheres to the guidelines outlined in the approved By-laws as amended from time to time.

Membership

Alabama Giving is a statewide membership association of grantmaking corporations; family, public, and supporting foundations; and charitable giving programs which award grants tomore than one institution or organization each year.

Non-Solicitation Policy

Alabama Giving is committed to enhance the promotion of philanthropy in Alabama. Alabama Giving is not a venue for grantseekers, fundraisers, or other types of charitable solicitations during any of its meetings, publications, or events.  Alabama Giving does not allow its member information to be distributed for solicitation purposes.

Membership Dues

Membership dues are 400 hundred dollars ($400.00) per year and shall be renewed January of each year regardless of the date in which the member joined. The nominal fee is to encourage the participation of all potential philanthropic organizations in our state. Those members who have the financial ability to support Alabama Giving's mission at higher levels are welcome to do so.

Membership Meetings

Meetings will be held three times a year (February, April,and September) in Montgomery, Mobile and Birmingham. Representatives from each member organization are invited to attend the meetings.
