Alabama Giving is a project to increase, promote, and encourage philanthropy statewide. Education programs and materials are available to encourage the creation of new foundations and corporate giving programs, increase gifts to existing organizations and communicate the value and importance of philanthropy. Discussions and meetings can be held for community leaders to explore the possibilities for organized philanthropy and development of assets in your community.
Foundations and corporations can join Alabama Giving in this effort to increase donor awareness of the importance of investing in Alabama communities and to partner and network with others throughout the state.
Planning Your Giving
As with any important decision in your life, thoughtful planning is an important part of charitable giving. Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants and financial planners can be invaluable guides in helping you plan and execute your charitable giving. Contact your professional advisor to discuss your giving options. Learn how philanthropy can help support your values and interests and benefit your financial situation.
Giving makes change. Let us show your community how.
Alabama Giving recieves support from local funders and the New Ventures in Philanthropy Initiative of the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers.
Since 1990, foundation assets in Alabama have grown from $0.5 billion to $1.7 billion. Numerous national foundations are starting to invest in our state and are seeking collaborations with local foundations and partners. Forming partnerships among foundations and corporate giving programs allows us to leverage the dollars that we have to increase our impact for positive change.
Philanthropy is an essential tool for sustaining and improving the state that we live in. It is with your work and the resources of your foundation that the quality of life for people in Alabama will improve. Please join the Alabama Giving in this exciting and promising new project.
